The 7 Principles to Living a Life of Prosperity

golden key

There are some seven principles to feeling and being prosperous. Following these principles consistently will help you to wake up to the prosperity that is all around you. It is our birthright to be abundant. There is enough for everybody to have – we live in an abundant universe.

Principle #1: It All Starts With You

As with everything in life, the key to the abundant living is our beliefs, as what we believe we experience. Believe in universal abundance and in receiving its unending supply. Allow prosperity on all levels of your being to bring happiness, joy, and love into your life. These are the signs of a truly prosperous being.

Principle #2: There Is More to Prosperity than Money

Prosperity includes relationships and health, as well. Without enjoyable relationships, your wealth can eventually become meaningless. Without health, you cannot enjoy the benefits of your abundance. Prosperity is not defined only physically, but on mental and spiritual levels as well.

Principle #3: Discover What You Really Want

Recognize areas of your life in which you are already prosperous, maybe your relationships or health. This will help you to begin attracting prosperity in other areas, such as in your finances.
Ask yourself what it is you want. If you are not sure of what you want, clarify for yourself what it is you do not want. That way you derive a deeper understanding of yourself. When you know and live your passion, you are bound to succeed.

Principle #4: Think and Feel Your Way to Prosperity

Become aware of your thoughts and feelings. Your very own thoughts form the foundation for what appears in your life.
Thinking and feeling prosperous is one of the first steps to becoming prosperous. When you tend to worry or allow yourself to become frustrated, you are not heading in the right direction.

Principle #5: Change the Habits that No Longer Serve You

Can you change your habits? Yes, you can. You were not born with your habits. You acquired them through your interactions with people, events, or circumstances. Some serve you, others act as barriers.
Examine your beliefs around the habits you would like to change. Your changed thinking will result in transforming or eliminating the habits that limit you in any way.

Principle #6: Recognize that Prosperity Is a Journey

Living prosperously is a lifetime journey. It consists of periods of realization, discovery, learning, decisions, and change, all leading to your greater abundance and prosperity.
There can be detours and unexpected adversities. Perceive any hurdles that you encounter as opportunities to learn. They will eventually propel you toward your success.

Principle #7: Persist on the Journey to Prosperity

Through perseverance, step by step, the path to reaching your objective becomes clear to you, and you define your actions.
Through your actions reinforced by focus, discipline and persistence, there comes the moment of reaching the “tipping point”. It is when it all takes off as on its own, toward a desired conclusion.

“Your task is not to seek prosperity, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”

(The above has been adapted from Rumi’s quote “Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”)

  1. Thank You Helena.
Loved reading your article. Thank You for sharing.
I would like to know how do you understand what you want?

    • Thank you Riddhi. I would think that if I know what I don’t want, it narrows the number of choices I could make. But knowing exactly what I want is quite different from knowing what I don’t want – when I focus on that knowing, I eventually unearth my desire and passion. It is important to stay true to oneself and harmonize what our heart tells us with what our brain deducts. I believe what our heart tells is primary though; we’ll know when we find our want. It‘s a process and we may change what we want during our lives.
